In This Episode

  • Hear how my client, Susan, credits MAP sessions with helping her overcome 10 years of chronic health issues including brain fog, fatigue, and sensitivities.
  • Hear how she describes the MAP Method as a 'beautifully simple' way to heal trauma.
  • Learn about the connection between trauma and chronic illness.

Show Notes

Join me for episode 69 where we talk with my client, Susan, about her experiences with the MAP Method and how MAP helped her to overcome 10+ years of chronic illness. Hear how she came to understand that there was a trauma connection, and how MAP Method sessions proved more effective than other modalities she tried including somatic work, counseling, EMDR or tapping.

In this episode we discuss:

  • The connection between trauma and chronic illness and how she learned from her chronic illness specialist that 80-90% of patients have a significant trauma history.
  • The experience of a MAP session and how Susan knew that MAP was changing something at a fundamental level in her mind.
  • How she came to MAP with a desire to release the trauma her body was holding, and to resolve her chronic fight-flight-freeze response.
  • How sessions have helped her to know herself better and realize that she was living her life in a small way.
  • The benefits she noted after 4 sessions, and after 6 sessions as her confidence increased and her brain fog resolved.
  • Her observation that things that used to be triggering aren’t anymore which frees up a lot of energy for living and healing.
  • How we work with the subconscious mind during sessions and uncover important associations.
  • Why Susan describes MAP as “beautifully simple” and “way more effective than I even hoped.”

Moments

[7:00] During that first session, I felt something in my mind's eye totally switch. I physically felt lighter in the days afterward. It was like I was carrying around a 20 lb backpack and suddenly it was gone. Even that night, after the first session, I was happier, I laughed easier. It was amazing!

[13:20] After my first few sessions I was getting to know myself better. I realized that I was living my life in a small way. After 4 sessions, I really woke up and I didn't have those mental constraints. I have so much confidence now. I thought I did before, but now I truly feel confident and I've been exploring things for the next phase of my life.

[14:00] I'd had brain fog for 10 years. I used to be a big reader, but I couldn't even read out loud to my kids because I couldn't remember what I'd just read. After our 6th session it totally went away and we did not work on that specifically!

[25:20] MAP is described as a quantum leap over anything else out there, and I 100% believe that's true. It's unlike anything, and I've tried almost everything out there.

[33:00] MAP is way more effective than I even hoped–this is actually a real healing modality!

[38:00] I just can’t stop talking about MAP. In my mind this is the only effective way to heal, and you don’t have a significant trauma history.

[44:00] The reason I can become a MAP Practitioner is because of MAP. It really saved me in a lot of respects from the trajectory that I was on. I just feel like a whole new door has been opened. It’s incredible.

[54:00] I am a much more mellow driver now. I didn't realize that until right now, and we never worked on that, but it seems that the cumulative effect of multiple sessions is that things are being taken care of.

[58:30] The way I understand [the relationship between trauma and chronic illness] is that part of your subconscious is still living in the traumas of the past and using up all this energy. When we can dissolve the trauma parts it frees up energy to use for healing instead of having it be locked up in those jails.
